Happy New Reading Year! Celebrate with our 2012 Book Club Selections

Start the First of 2012 with "One for the Money" by Janet Evanovich!
Evanovich_WebCalDRAFT.PNG Can a failed lingerie buyer succeed as a bond agent working for her slimy cousin Vinnie? Can she bring in tough cop Joe Morelli who is not only wanted for murder, but the person who was Stephanie's "first" (behind the pastry case at the bakery she worked for when she was 16)? These and other questions will be addressed when the group discusses Janet Evanovich's landslide comic mystery, "One For The Money". Come join in the fun of discovering -- or rediscovering -- Stephanie Plum, Lulu, Joe, Ranger, and the legendary Grandma Mazur.
And join us again -- when the group goes to see the movie version of "One for the Money"! We'll be meeting up in early February to see the movie together -- and then discuss it, and how it compares to the book after the show. There'll be more information on this Stephanie Plum "field trip" when we know when and where it is playing -- so check back here!

Now for some helpful links to enhance our upcoming discussion of the book. First, as always, is a link to the fabulous Fantastic Ficton website page for Janet Evanovich, which lists all her books in their series' order, as well as what's coming up next! Click on their logo --> FantasticFiction_F_sm.PNG  to go there.  Then click over to our catalog --> LLD_bookcatalog.PNG

for a spot of browsing & to see which of these books are in -- or on order. (You can count on us to have all of the Stephanie Plums!) And to hear what the author has to say for herself, here's our link -->Evanovich_MAFmagnifierOneForMoney.PNGto Janet's own site! And now for a serendipitous piece of fun... we moved a film called "The Front" into our regular DVD collection today. It is based on a Patricia Cornwell novel, and one of its stars is none other than Daniel Sunjata -- who will be playing Ranger! In case you're curious about the movie,

As for One for the Money – the movie, here’s what Janet is saying about it on her web site: "The movie of One for the Money will be in theaters on January 27, 2012. Janet had a chance to see an advanced viewing of the movie and is happy to report it's GREAT! Katherine Heigl is fantastic as Stephanie. The men are hot. And Sherri Shepherd as Lula…OMG!!"

Janet and Katherine Heigl were on "The View" yesterday, and along with Sherri Shepherd, had some fun things to say about both the movie and the series. Click the picture below (from Janet's site) to go to the interview on The View's web site.  to

... And here’s the YouTube trailer for the movie that’s featured on her site as well!
